Our policies exist so every visit feels safe, comfortable and enjoyable — for you, your guests and everyone who calls THIS Gym home. They apply to every member, guest and anyone else authorized to access the club under an agreement with THIS Gym (“Authorized Persons”).
Where they apply
These policies cover your conduct anywhere on THIS Gym’s Premises, which include, but aren’t limited to, our centers, facilities, spaces, related businesses and all outdoor areas, including parking lots and sidewalks (“Premises”). They also apply to your conduct during our programs, services, products, training, events and other activities, on or off the Premises, including those sponsored by THIS Gym (“Events”).
Your health comes first
The health and safety of our members, guests and Authorized Persons is our highest priority. Our policies are designed to help protect you, but THIS Gym can’t remove all risk, and we can’t guarantee or promise that you won’t sustain injuries or damages from viruses, bacteria, communicable, contagious or other infectious diseases, or other health hazards associated with your use of THIS Gym’s Premises, facilities, equipment, services, activities, Events or products (“Use of THIS Gym Premises and Services”).
How these fit with other policies
These policies supplement any posted or provided in our club, on our website or app, or at our Events. We may adopt policies that apply to a single center or Event, and state law, orders or guidelines may set different requirements for certain centers or Events that aren’t described here. Where policies conflict, the more restrictive one applies.
Keeping things fair
If you violate any of these policies, your membership, access or Event participation may be suspended or terminated. Our decision on all questions of how these policies are construed or interpreted is final.
Staying current
We may change these policies at any time, without notice, at our sole discretion. As a member, guest or Authorized Person, you’re responsible for reviewing and following them at all times. Only current THIS Gym members, authorized guests and authorized vendors may access the club.
Checking In & Club Access
Check-In
Every visit starts at the front desk. Members may not enter the club without admission from the front desk. Because access varies by membership type, you must have the required access and be in good standing to be let in. To help verify your identity at check-in, we’ll take your photo for your membership.
Non-members here for a scheduled service are welcome in the building for that service, with a grace period of 15 minutes before it starts and 15 minutes after it ends.
Closures & Access Restrictions
We reserve the right to close or restrict access to any area of the club — or the entire club or Premises — without advance notice, for any reason. That includes, but isn’t limited to:
Construction, remodeling, repair or maintenance, planned or unplanned
Health or safety reasons, including weather, natural disasters, power outages, or other failure of electrical or water service
The presence or outbreak of an infectious disease, pandemic or epidemic
Medical issues
Terroristic activity, an active assailant, riots or unrest
A labor dispute, strike or shortage
Compliance with state and local laws, or any order, directive, guidance or action from a regulatory, governmental or law enforcement agency or authority
Any other event outside THIS Gym’s reasonable control
We’ll send updates to all members by email. Your obligation to pay membership dues and/or fees doesn’t depend on usage, availability or access to the club or Premises, and is further subject to your General Terms Agreement.
Specialty Spaces & Services
We may restrict access to, and/or charge separate dues or fees for, certain areas, programs, services (including personal training and Reformer Pilates class memberships) and activities in or around the club.
Your Health & Safety
Physical Examination & Health
Before starting any new exercise or nutrition program, we strongly encourage you to consult your doctor and get a complete physical exam. By using THIS Gym Premises and Services, you represent that you’re healthy enough to do so safely and that you’re in compliance with all required government agency or department health directives. THIS Gym does not provide medical advice.
Illness & Infection
If you have any symptoms of — or may have been exposed to someone with — a communicable, contagious or otherwise transferable or transmissible illness, sickness, disease or infection, or you otherwise pose a health risk to members, guests, Authorized Persons, team members or the public because of it, you may not use THIS Gym Premises and Services and must remove yourself immediately.
All exposed lesions or rashes must be covered with waterproof, adhesive bandages.
THIS Gym reserves the right to limit your Use of THIS Gym Premises and Services due to illness, sickness, disease, infection, exposed lesions or rashes, among other reasons.
Members, guests and Authorized Persons must follow all signs and all applicable rules or laws, whether posted or not.
Cleaning
We use a range of cleaning, hygiene, disinfecting and sanitation protocols to operate and maintain the Premises, designed to be consistent with CDC guidelines. Even so, there are still dangers, hazards and risks of injury or damage — including illness, sickness, disease and infection — when using THIS Gym Premises and Services. These include, but aren’t limited to:
Contact with or exposure to other members, team members, guests, Authorized Persons or vendors who are ill, sick, or have a disease, infection, impairment or other injury
Contact with or exposure to communicable or contagious diseases, infection or infectious agents, and pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, mold or other microorganisms
Other health dangers, hazards and risks that can cause illness, sickness, disease, infection, impairment or other injuries
Personal Hygiene
We ask everyone to keep up good personal hygiene:
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using equipment or fixtures.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
Go easy on scented oils, lotions, colognes, perfumes and other fragrances, out of respect for members with fragrance or chemical sensitivities or allergies.
Don’t arrive at the club or our Events smelling of smoke, vapor of any kind, or other fragrant substances.
Injuries
If you’re injured on our Premises, get help right away from a THIS Gym team member, who can provide or arrange appropriate medical assistance. THIS Gym is not responsible for, and will not consider reimbursing, members’ medical costs — including, but not limited to, charges for emergency response services or an ambulance — for a medical event or emergency at our Premises, facilities, centers, programs or Events, including those held off our Premises.
Community Standards
Respectful Conduct
We’re committed to a family-friendly environment, so we expect proper, respectful conduct on our Premises at all times. We don’t permit disrespectful conduct toward our members, guests, Authorized Persons, employees, vendors or property. That includes, but isn’t limited to, vulgar, profane, indecent, offensive, hateful, discriminatory, violent, hostile, aggressive, threatening, harassing, stalking, fraudulent or otherwise inappropriate conduct or communications.
Proper Attire
Proper attire — including a shirt and shoes — is required at all times, unless a specific area, service or class calls for something different. THIS Gym determines what counts as proper attire, at our sole discretion.
Solicitation
Unless expressly authorized by THIS Gym Communications, you may not solicit members, guests or team members, in person or in writing, on our Premises or at off-Premises Events. This includes, but isn’t limited to, solicitation for political or religious purposes, media interviews, business opportunities, competing products or services, or polling, or in support of or opposition to anything or anyone.
Weapons
You may not possess, display, use or distribute weapons of any kind, or use any object designed for another purpose as a weapon to threaten, harass or harm anyone. This applies on our Premises and off our Premises at any THIS Gym sponsored, endorsed or operated program, activity, class, session, seminar, workshop, assessment, Event, service, amenity or benefit, for any reason, except as otherwise expressly allowed by law.
Alcohol
Alcohol may be consumed on the Premises or at Events only if it’s purchased from or provided by THIS Gym or a third party we’ve authorized, and only in designated areas.
You must be of legal drinking age with valid identification. We card everyone purchasing alcoholic beverages.
You may not use our equipment, services, facilities, Events or programs, among other things, while under the influence of alcohol.
Please drink responsibly. You assume all risks associated with your consumption.
THIS Gym reserves the right to refuse alcohol service to anyone at any time.
At our sole discretion, we may suspend or terminate your membership for reasons including, but not limited to, excessive drinking on our Premises, buying alcohol for underage members or guests, or bringing alcohol into a THIS Gym center, facility or Premises.
Drugs
You may not use, smell of, possess or sell any illegal drug on the Premises, including, but not limited to, anabolic steroids or other illegal growth-enhancing substances.
You may not smell of or use any cigarette, cigar, vapor or cannabis product, or any other drug, while on our Premises.
You may not use our equipment, services, facilities, Events or programs while under the influence of illegal drugs.
You may not use any equipment, facilities, services, programs or Events if any substance — including, but not limited to, a prescription, over-the-counter medication, herbal remedy, caffeinated energy drink, or any legal or illegal drug, including alcohol or cannabis — negatively affects your ability to safely use our equipment or facilities or take part in our programming, services or Events.
Smoke-Free Premises
You may not smoke, smell of, chew or use any tobacco, electronic cigarette, vapor or cannabis product (as allowed in certain states), among others, anywhere on our Premises — including outdoor areas like sidewalks and the parking lot — or at our Events.
Animals
Animals aren’t allowed on the Premises unless they’re a service animal performing its duties for a person who needs its assistance, or an on-duty law enforcement animal (“exempt animals”).
All exempt animals must be vaccinated and have a general dog license from their state or local jurisdiction where required by law.
Most service animals should be leashed or caged, unless the handler’s disability prevents using these devices or the devices interfere with the animal’s safe, effective performance of tasks.
Service animals must be under the control of a responsible person (not THIS Gym staff) at all times. An animal must be removed if it’s out of control and its owner can’t get it under control, or if it poses a safety risk. Service animals may also be denied access if they aren’t housebroken.
Owners must promptly clean up animal waste and are liable for any damage the animal causes.
Public health rules prohibit animals in pools, whirlpools, saunas, spas, steam rooms and showers.
As allowed by law, pets and emotional support animals are not permitted in any THIS Gym center or Premises.
Damage to the Club
You may not damage the club or Premises in any way, including, but not limited to, damaging or stealing exercise equipment, towels, supplies or other property. If you — or a guest, minor member, junior member or Additional Member on your membership — damages the club or Premises, you’re liable for and must pay for the damage, and your membership may be terminated at THIS Gym’s sole discretion.
Around the Club
Equipment
Please use our equipment only as intended — you may not modify any THIS Gym equipment. Personal equipment, mechanical or otherwise, isn’t allowed unless THIS Gym approves it first, at our sole discretion. We may revoke that approval at any time, for any reason.
Personal Belongings
Small personal items may come with you to the fitness floor or studios in a small cinch-style bag, at THIS Gym’s sole discretion. Large workout bags, backpacks, coats, outdoor shoes and other belongings stay in a locker.
THIS Gym is not liable or responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property, whether from lockers, vehicles or anywhere else on the Premises. Lost something? Ask in person at the front desk — we can’t take phone inquiries about lost items.
Lockers
Lockers are available for members, guests and Authorized Persons to store belongings while using our facilities, programs, Events and services. Lockers may use a key or a combination lock.
Make sure your locker is secured before you walk away.
Lockers are for use only while you’re on the Premises. Nothing may be left overnight — anything left overnight will be removed.
Don’t bring or store valuables on the Premises, including, but not limited to, watches, jewelry or cash.
THIS Gym is not liable or responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property left in lockers.
THIS Gym reserves the right to search any locker, without notice, at our sole discretion.
Locker Rooms
We expect proper etiquette in our locker rooms. For the comfort of all members and guests, please err on the side of modesty.
No spitting, sleeping or sexual conduct.
Dispose of towels in the designated container.
No photography or videography of any kind.
THIS Gym follows all state and local laws and policies on locker room and bathroom use, including use based on a person’s gender identity.
Saunas & Cold Plunges
Our saunas are quiet spaces. To keep them comfortable and safe for everyone:
Wear proper attire. No nude use of the saunas or cold tubs, and no shaving in them.
Don’t pour water on the sauna heater.
Don’t hang clothes to dry in the sauna.
Don’t work out, or wear rubber suits or excessive clothing, in the sauna.
Phones, smart glasses and other mobile devices may not be used to take or place calls in the sauna or steam room. If you’re using a device for music or audio, headphones or earbuds are required.
Parking Lot
Lock your vehicle and don’t leave valuables inside. We are not liable or responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property from vehicles, or for damage to or theft of the vehicle itself.
Parking is for members, guests and Authorized Persons only while using THIS Gym Premises, areas, services, activities, programs or Events. No overnight parking.
THIS Gym reserves the right to tow unauthorized vehicles at the owner’s expense.
Obey all driving and parking laws in our lot. Unsafe driving is prohibited, including, but not limited to, reckless driving, driving at unsafe speeds, cutting across parking and driving lanes, and distracted driving.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, THIS Gym will not be liable for the loss or theft of, or damage to, any personal property of you or your guests, including, without limitation, items left in your vehicles.
THIS Gym Wi-Fi
By accessing the THIS Gym wireless network, you agree not to use it to:
Transmit any material that violates applicable laws, rules or regulations, or that defames, harms, threatens or attempts to harm any person, business or other entity
Transmit any material that infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or other proprietary rights of THIS Gym or any third party
Violate the security or integrity of our network, or use our network to violate the security or integrity of any other network
Any of these acts may result in termination of your membership and your access to our club, as well as criminal and civil liability.
You use this wireless connection entirely at your own risk. THIS Gym disclaims all liability for loss of confidential information or damages resulting from that loss. We make no promises, representations or warranties of any kind about the suitability or security of this service, and specifically disclaim all warranties of fitness for a particular purpose of security. The wireless service is provided “As Is.”
You’ll stay connected to the network until you disconnect, and you’ll connect — or be asked to connect — automatically when you enter its range.
By using the wireless service, you agree to indemnify us, our officers and agents against all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses made against or incurred, suffered or sustained arising out of your use of it. In no event will we be liable for any damages, including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the wireless service.
We may block access to or end the wireless service at any time, for any reason, and assume no liability for doing so. We may record information about your use of our network and may use or disclose it, when appropriate, to comply with the law or to protect the rights, property or safety of THIS Gym.
Photography & Content Capture
Personal Recording
You’re welcome to record your own workouts for personal or social media use with a phone, small tripod or phone stand. Just keep it considerate:
Don’t block walkways, equipment or exits, interfere with other members, or create a safety hazard.
Don’t intentionally feature other members without their permission, or capture private conversations.
Recording is never permitted in locker rooms, restrooms or showers.
If someone asks not to be recorded, reposition or stop immediately, and don’t post footage in which they can be identified.
Recording during classes requires the instructor’s approval.
Professional, Commercial & Third-Party Content
Professional, commercial, promotional, sponsored, third-party, livestreamed or production-style photography and video are prohibited on our Premises — or at any THIS Gym sponsored or affiliated Event, program or activity off our Premises — without prior express consent from THIS Gym management.
That includes, without limitation, any photos or video taken for personal profit, professional gain or any other commercial purpose, such as marketing or promoting an outside program, offering, activity, service, product or brand (including those that compete with THIS Gym). It applies whether the content is captured with professional setups or personal devices like a phone or tablet. Examples include:
Professional photographers or videographers
DSLR or mirrorless cameras, gimbals, tripods or dedicated lighting
Multi-camera setups or crews
Brand campaigns or production teams
Approved shoots may come with restrictions on timing, location, equipment, crew size, and use of the THIS Gym name or branding. Send requests to info@thisgym.com. Violations may result in immediate membership termination.
Staff Authority
Our staff may ask anyone to adjust, relocate, pause or stop recording when it affects safety, privacy, club operations or the member experience. Members are expected to comply promptly.
Membership
Our Memberships
THIS Gym offers a range of subscriptions, including, but not limited to, memberships that give you access to our Premises and services, and memberships that give you access to our digital and online resources, including the THIS Gym app.
Our subscriptions, memberships, amenities, club or Premises access (in whole or in part), benefits, programs, services, classes and Events — and any related dues and/or fees, current or future — are subject to change or termination at any time, and may carry separate dues and/or fees for usage, availability or access.
THIS Gym retains complete control over all matters affecting or relating to our members and memberships. That includes, but isn’t limited to, separate dues and/or fees for club, Premises or online access, promotions, and any documentation or information we may require from members or guests, such as proof of cohabitation, family or guardianship status, age or residency.
Primary Member
The Primary Member is typically the person who purchases the membership. The Primary Member can:
Cancel the entire membership
Change the Monthly Payment Method
Add or remove Additional Members
Authorize Club Tab users
Correct or update membership information
Transfer the membership
Get their own membership information
Make payments on the membership
Additional Members
Every member other than the Primary Member is an Additional Member. Additional Members are limited to a partner/spouse and children ages 18–26 living in the same household, with only one partner/spouse per membership. We’ll ask for proof of cohabitation when you sign up an Additional Member.
Membership Pricing
Current pricing is available on our website. Membership pricing is subject to change. Certain services, programs, amenities or areas within the club may be restricted, conditioned or otherwise limited by specific terms and conditions, and/or may require a separate or supplemental fee for access or use, including, but not limited to, personal training.
Third-Party Products & Services
If you use any third-party products or services in connection with purchasing a membership, services and/or products (among other things), you agree to follow all applicable terms and conditions of any agreement for those third-party products and services. THIS Gym is not responsible for your use of or access to any third-party products or services.
Dues, Payments & Fees
Monthly Dues
We collect monthly membership dues — and certain other payments, like recurring payments for services or products — within the first five (5) days of each month, typically on the first business day. Some products or services may instead be charged on a date you designate. Payments are drawn by electronic funds transfer from the bank account, credit card or debit card on file (your “Monthly Payment Method”).
If a payment doesn’t go through, we’ll keep attempting collection for the week following the first attempt.
Card updates. We may use card-issuer services that automatically update your card information to prevent disruptions from account changes, like an expired or reissued card. You can opt out at any time by contacting the club.
Overdrafts. We’re not responsible for overdraft fees.
Invoices. We don’t send regular monthly invoices. Your transaction history, including recurring and non-recurring charges, is available in your membership account or by request to THIS Gym management.
Your Payment Method
A Monthly Payment Method is required to set up your membership. In special circumstances, you may skip an upcoming monthly dues transfer by providing the club with an alternate payment method at least three (3) business days before the last day of the month. To change the account your dues are drawn from, visit the front desk or update your payment methods in your membership account.
Changes to Dues & Fees
Dues, fees, costs and other charges are subject to change by THIS Gym at any time without notice, unless otherwise required by law. We reserve the right to implement or change fees or other charges at any time, unless otherwise required by law. When the law requires notice of a change, we may provide it by regular mail or by email to the address(es) associated with the membership.
Fees
Subject to the provisions below and any variation required or permitted by state law, we may charge certain fees to members, including, without limitation, those in the Fee Schedule below or in each department’s section of our Guest and Club Policies, which we may update periodically at our sole discretion.
Fees may vary by season, calendar date, state, service, demand, product, program, benefit, class, Event, amenity, club, Premises, club or Premises area (such as the pool or aquatic area, whether indoor or outdoor; basketball, tennis, racquetball or other courts; exercise studios; or any other space in or around the club), or payment frequency, whether recurring or non-recurring.
Fee Schedule
Credit card surcharge: 3% on all credit card transactions, unless prohibited by law
Membership pause: $20 per paused month, non-refundable
Late cancel / no-show on a waitlisted class: $15
Membership Pause Policy
Life happens — if you need to hit pause on your membership, here’s how it works.
Who’s eligible
Month-to-month memberships only. Annual memberships can’t be paused.
You must be an active member for at least 60 consecutive days before requesting a pause.
How the pause works
You may pause for one full calendar month, once every 12 months.
Pauses follow our billing cycle and run from the 1st through the last day of the month. Partial-month pauses aren’t available.
Facility access is suspended for the entire paused month. If you visit during your pause, the pause is forfeited and you’ll be charged for that month.
Cost
A non-refundable $20 administrative fee applies for the paused month, in place of your standard membership rate.
Requesting a pause
Submit your request by the 20th of the month before the month you’d like to pause.
Billing automatically resumes at your standard rate on the 1st of the month after your pause.
Your membership must stay active for at least one full billing cycle after a pause before we can process a cancellation request.
Medical & military exceptions
Members with a documented medical condition may request an additional pause beyond the standard allowance. Documentation is required.
Active duty service members are covered by our Active Duty Military Policy below, which overrides the limits in this policy.
Active Duty Military Policy
If you’re called to active duty, your membership is the last thing you should have to think about. Here’s how we handle it.
Who’s covered
Active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces, including National Guard and Reserve members who receive activation or deployment orders. This applies to every membership, including annual memberships.
Your options
Pause your membership for the full length of your orders at no cost. The $20 administrative fee, the one-month limit and the once-every-12-months rule from our standard pause policy don’t apply to military leave.
Cancel your membership outright, with no notice period, no cancellation fee and no requirement to stay active for another billing cycle.
What we need
A copy of your orders or a letter from your commanding officer, sent to info@thisgym.com or brought to the front desk. Billing stops effective the date your orders begin, and anything already charged for time after that date is refunded.
When you come back
Your membership restarts at the rate you were paying when you left, with no new initiation fee.
Late Cancel / No-Show Policy
To keep classes accessible for everyone — especially when there’s a waitlist — we ask members to cancel with enough notice.
When it applies: Only to classes with an active waitlist at the time you cancel or miss class.
The fee: If you cancel less than 1 hour before class starts, or don’t show up for a class you reserved, you’ll be charged $15.
How to avoid it: Cancel your reservation any time up to 1 hour before class starts, free of charge.
Billing: Fees are charged to the payment method on file.
Canceling Your Membership
You may cancel your membership for any reason by giving THIS Gym verbal or written notice, as provided in your General Terms Agreement. The Primary Member or an authorized partner member may cancel the membership. You’re responsible for the immediate next billing cycle, and your membership stays active through the last day of that cycle.
Guests & Day Passes
We love welcoming guests, whether they’re visiting with a member (Guest Pass) or walking in on their own (Day Pass).
Guest Passes for Members
A complimentary guest pass each month is part of your membership benefits. Your guest passes live in your member account in the THIS Gym app — stop by the front desk with any questions about the passes available to you.
Unused guest passes don’t roll over to later months or years.
Guest passes may be limited to non-peak hours and restricted at THIS Gym’s sole discretion.
What Guests Should Know
We may restrict guest passes — overall or individually — or guest use of the club at any time, at our sole discretion. That can include limiting guest visits to non-peak, family or open hours, restricting guest use of certain amenities or areas, or limiting guests to certain scheduled or special programs or Events.
All guests must check in at the front desk, where they’ll:
Complete and sign our Electronic Guest Register, which includes a Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, Indemnification Agreement, and Arbitration Agreement with a Class Action Waiver
Present a valid driver’s license or government-issued ID, so we can verify guest information and track use of the club or Premises for safety and security
As a THIS Gym guest, you agree that THIS Gym may market to or solicit you as permitted by you and/or the law. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time.
Accessibility
THIS Gym is committed to making our club accessible to people with disabilities, and to creating an experience that works for everyone. We are committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We do not discriminate against individuals with disabilities, and we’ll take the steps necessary to give members with disabilities full and equal enjoyment of our facilities and services, in accordance with applicable laws.
